Ngong Ping

Ngong Ping is a bicable gondola lift on Lantau Island, Hong Kong. It is one of my favorite places to visit in Hong Kong. A unique transportation system that offers breathtaking views such as the Tian Tan Buddha—a 34-meter bronze statue symbolizing peace and enlightenment.

My redesign is influenced by the structural form of the cable car, a color palette observed by Buddhist celebrations in Hong Kong, and uses functional clarity to enhance its own tradition. I aimed to let the traditional sites speak for themselves through simple linear designs matched with dynamic composition of typography.
